12/10/11 Will the next WRX please stand up.. 2013 WRX 2.0L turbo coming
'Subaru has confirmed that the next-generation Subaru WRX, due as a 2013 model, will be powered by a turbocharged version of the new FA direct-injection, 2.0-liter flat-four that debuted in the BRZ sports car. There’s no word from Subaru on what will be under the next STI’s hood, but it’ll almost certainly be a more powerful iteration of the WRX’s 2.0-liter.
The current WRX features a 265-hp, turbocharged 2.5-liter flat four, and despite the lower displacement, we don’t expect the next car’s output to be any lower. As for the next STI, we already know it will pack at least 300 hp. Both cars will move to a dedicated platform when they are redesigned instead of being modified Imprezas as they have been in the past. Happily, the muscular duo is expected to weigh less than the current models. If you’re wondering whether the turbocharged 2.0-liter will show up in the BRZ or its Scion FR-S twin, you’re not alone. #1 Who wants summer tires? Put all season tires back on the cars. If you intend to race the car you'll probably want different tires anyway
Tire pressure monitors should be self registering so a technician isn't required each time one swaps wheels/monitors
Keep the rubber rear bumper cover on 5 doors- don't switch to the thin clear vinyl/mylar one like on other models
The All Weather Package should include the rear cargo/trunk tray and the all weather rubber floor mats

- RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE - . the full maintenance schedule Subaru Synthetic 5w-30 Oil required for all 2012 turbo engines.  recommended for 2010 and prior turbo engines.  Note: the warranty maintenance owner's booklet may have incorrectly omitted the recommended 105,000 mile 2.5L timing belt replacement. New Car 1000 mile break-in period keep RPMs under 4000, vary speeds, avoid hard starts/stops Oil Change requires Synthetic 5w-30 oil 1st oil change  by 7500 miles or 7.5 months Subsequent oil change: required at leaset every 7500 or 7.5 months. Tire rotation 7,500 miles 15,000 mile service- minor service: inspect all fluids and engine air filter, replace oil/filter, rotate tires, replace cabin air filter  30,000 mile service- replace brake fluid, engine air filter, and cabin air filter. HD Radio
Digital radio broadcast signal for improved clarity

HD radio was first offered in the 2011 Forester Limited and Touring models.
The ‘HD’ in ‘HD Radio’ is part of iBiquity Digital’s brand name for its digital AM and FM radio technology.
It does not mean either hybrid digital or high definition, it is simply the branding language for this new technology.
HD Radio broadcasting is free, there are no subscription fees.
You can get digital AM and FM stations, including HD2 and HD3 multicast channels.
HD Radio broadcasting is your favorite local AM and FM stations broadcasting digitally, producing radically improved sound.
Very clear. AM radio sounds like FM, and FM radio sounds like a CD.
Unwanted pops, hisses and dropouts are a thing of the past with an HD Radio receiver."
HD2 multicasting means more FM channels and new programming available from local FM stations, which you can only hear on your new HD Radio receiver.
Across the country, local FM stations are offering a wide variety of new formats on their HD2 channels: reggae, blues, classic jazz, future country, new alternative, deep tracks, bluegrass and local artists.
The service includes iTunes Tagging. iTunes Tagging lets you capture information about a song on the radio and store it on your iPod by pushing the "Tag" button on the HD Radio receiver. When your iPod is connected to iTunes, a list of tagged songs will appear which can be previewed, purchased, and downloaded.

How to get a car
inventory, dealer trade, ordering

Inventory -   Dealers are offered cars for inventory a month or so in advance. The quantity can vary from month to month. Most cars will have a  extra options or upgrades and usually these are features that are popular in the area.  Some, but only a few, will not have any extras at all. Cars in stock are available for immediate purchase and dealers might be more motivated to move them.

"Dealer trade" or "locate". This is when a dealer looks for a vehicle in another dealer's inventory and then trades cars, ie swaps cars, with that dealer.
This means the requesting dealer has to have a car the other dealer will accept back in trade.
There are many people at the dealerships and at Subaru involved in the process.
The vehicle is usually driven from the other location. This can take place within days if a vehicle is already in stock someplace.

Pre-sell, incoming: You wait for a vehicle the dealer already has incoming in their system.

Order:
If you really want a specific vehicle, you can order it. Subaru requires customer information and a deposit.
Once ordered Subaru will give an expected delivery Month.
Within 2-5 weeks, there will be date, an ETA, an estimated time of arrival.  This is not a promise the car will there on a specific day or week and the frequently changes. Your dealer can watch for updates.

Orders are filled as the right model, tranmission, and color is available, on a first order in, first filled  basis.
Usually a vehicle arrives at a dealer within 5-10 weeks (typically 7-8), but delays can happen at any point along the assembly and shipping process, so be patient.
If you are requesting a popular car with a waiting list, or an uncommon car,  it can take longer.

If a certain individual option or accessory is not available for installation, the car will still be sent to the dealer. The accessory can then be added by the dealer but the cost might change.
The dealer wants you to get your car as quickly as you want to get it!
