| Towing |
Towing a
trailer- is not recommmended with an Impreza and no factory trailer
hitch is available. Unofficially, if you are going to tow with an Impreza
anyway, check and maintain all fluids and tune-up specs, and keep weight
and speeds down, and of course have a reputable hitch installer install
it on your car. Warranties might be affected by towing.
Towing the car- a
flatbed is always recommended when towing your Subaru. A manual transmission
can be towed with all wheels on the ground behind a tow truck or motorhome
for example, but never with just 2 wheels on the ground.
An automatic can be towed
with all 4 wheels on the ground in an emergency for a short distance (under
31 miles) at very slow speed (under 20mph). A flatbed is strongly preferred. |
