Synthetic 5w-30
Synthetic Oil is required for all turbo engines. Subaru brand oil is available and recommended New Car 1000 mile break-in period keep RPMs under 4000, vary speeds, avoid hard starts/stops Oil Service requires Synthetic 5w-30 oil 1st oil/filter service- replace oil and filter by 6,000 miles or 6 months. Subsequent oil services required at least every 6,000 miles or 6 months. With hard, severe, short trip, cold weather driving replace oil and filter every 3mos/3000 miles from the owner's manual Some engine oil will be consumed while driving. Under the following conditions, oil consumption can be increased and thus require refilling between maintenance intervals: > When the engine is new and within the break-in period > When the engine oil is of lower quality > When the incorrect oil viscosity is used > When engine braking is employed > When the engine is operated at high engine speeds > When the engine is operated under heavy loads > When towing a trailer > When the engine idles for long periods of time > When the vehicle is operated in stop and go and/or heavy traffic situations > When the vehicle is used under severe thermal conditions > When the vehicle accelerates and decelerates frequently > Under these or similar conditions, you should check your oil at least every 2nd fuel fill-up and change your engine oil more frequently. If your oil consumption rate is greater than 1 quart every 1,200 miles or 1 liter every 2,000 kilometers, contact your Subaru dealer who may perform a test under controlled conditions. 6,000 mile/6 months - oil/filter service and tire rotation 12,000 miles/12 months- minor service: inspect all fluids and engine air filter, replace oil/filter, rotate tires, replace cabin air filter 18,000 miles/18 months - oil/filter service and tire rotation 24,000 miles/24 months- minor service: inspect all fluids and engine air filter, replace oil/filter, rotate tires, replace cabin air filter 30,000 miles/30 months- repeat 12,000 mile service, plus replace brake fluid. Inspect all hoses, belts, brakes pads, and fluids including CVT fluid 36,000 miles/36 months - oil/filter service and tire rotation 42,000 miles/42 months - oil/filter service and tire rotation, replace cabin air filter 48,000 miles/48 months - minor service: inspect all fluids and engine air filter, replace oil/filter, rotate tires 54,000 miles/54 months - oil/filter service and tire rotation 60,000 miles/60 months- repeat 30,000 miles service plus spark plug replacement 72,000 miles/72 months- oil/filter service, rotate tires, replace fuel filter 90,000 miles/90 months: repeat 30,000 mile service. 96,000 miles/96 months- STI only replace the timing belt. The WRX has a timing chain that doesn't need to be replaced Coolant- Subaru Super Coolant. The first replacement is 11 years or 137,000 miles. click for the

| Rear Vision Detection System, including Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. all new, all features are new for 2016. Standard on STI Limited WRX Limited manual with Option Pkg #22 WRX Limited CVT with Option Package #23 This is the first time it has been available on a WRX The Subaru Rear Vision Detection System (SRVD) includes Lane Change Assist (warns of vehicles approaching in the next lane), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (warns of vehicles approaching when you're backing out of a parking spot) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD) The Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection (SRVD) system uses two radar units, each mounted underneath the sheet metal immediately below the rear taillights. To help avoid damage, the radar units are purposely mounted above the typical bumper impact line. The radar units send out signals to detect vehicles behind and to each side of the Subaru vehicle, especially those vehicles that might not be visible in the rearview mirrors. Lane Change Assist (LCA), at speeds over 6mph, it looks for vehicles farther back in an adjacent lane – about 220 feet behind the Subaru vehicle. If the vehicle detected is approaching quickly – at a speed that could bring it alongside the Subaru vehicle within a few seconds – Lane Change Assist will illuminate a warning icon in the exterior mirror on that side. If the driver signals a lane change, the warning icon in the mirror will flash rapidly. Blind Spot Detection (BSD) is standard on Limiteds, optional on Premiums. At speeds over 6mph, it will illuminate a warning icon in the exterior mirror when it detects a vehicle alongside and behind the Subaru vehicle in an area of about 22 feet x 11 feet. If the driver signals a lane change to that side, the warning icon in the mirror will flash. Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) uses the same radars and sensors to help detect vehicles that cannot be seen by the driver as they approach from either side. This is especially helpful when reversing from between two larger vehicles. The driver is alerted by a flashing icon in the appropriate exterior mirror, a flashing icon in the rear vision camera display, as well as an audible alert |

| Eyesight Driver Assist Technology all new, all features are new for 2016. Optional on the 2016 WRX Limited CVT with Option Package #23 This is the first time it has been available on a WRX. Its the 3rd generation Eyesight (note- 1st gen Eyesight was never offered in the US). Its only available with the CVT transmission Eyesight includes: all new for Subaru Lane Keep Assist- uses the electric power steering to help keep the car from drifting out of the lane on the highway, over app 40mph. Using turn signals or turning the steering wheel etc overrides this function all new for WRX Eyesight models have a new, redesigned center console with an electric parking brake Active cruise control, Lane departure warning Lane Keep Assist- all new for 2016 Pre-collision warning and Pre-collision braking. Steering responsive fog lights > Eyesight models have an electric parking brake > Steering responsive fog lights uses steering wheel position to briefly turn on the left or right fog light to illuminate a corner when the vehicle is turned. Headlights have to be turned on and fog lights off for the system to work. > Active Cruise Control combines the benefits of cruise control with active monitoring of the road ahead. It issues warnings and activates automatic braking when needed. Adaptive Cruise Control can regulate vehicle speed in order to keep a safe following distance from the vehicle ahead. It does not replace conventional cruise control, which can still be used when desired. > Pre-Collision Braking (brake and engine function) can recognize an impending collision, alert the driver and automatically apply the brakes to help avoid a collision or minimize the impact when a collision is inevitable. > Pre-Collision Brake Assist (brake function, from app 7-100 mile per hour)) - If Eyesight recognizes an impending collision and the driver is applying the brakes but not with enough force, Pre-Collision Brake Assist automatically applies up to full braking pressure in order to try to shorten braking distances. > Pre-Collision Throttle Management (engine function) is designed to help prevent drivers from accelerating into a stopped vehicle or other obstacle in front of them. It warns the driver and reduces engine power until he or she applies the brakes to avoid an impact. > Lead Vehicle Start Alert (beep function) is a helpful EyeSight feature that alerts the driver when his or her vehicle remains stopped after a vehicle in front has started to move away, going at least app 10ft > Lane Departure Warning (beep function, over app 30mph) alerts drivers when they unintentionally move out of their travel lane. It takes no corrective vehicle action other than issuing visual and audible warnings. Works over app 30mph > Lane Keep Assist (steering function) is a new addition to Subaru Eyesight. It uses the electric power steering to help keep the car from drifting out of the lane on the highway. Using turn signals or deliberately turning the steering wheel overrides this function. If you drive on freeways above app 40-90 miles per hour and the vehcile is about to depart from the lane, the system assists the steering operation by turning it in a direction that will prevent the lane departure. Driver control of the steering wheel, brakes, turn signals and gas pedal will override this steering function. > Lane Sway Warning (beep function, over app 38mph) acts in a similar way, detecting unusual back and forth vehicle movement within the lane of travel. Lane Sway Warning operates at speeds over app 38 mph. Eyesight cars have three windshield washer squirters, with the middle one to clean in front of the cameras. The camera’s field of view is about 35 degrees horizontally from the center of the windshield. The camera’s field of vision extends up to about 360 feet in front of the vehicle, but objects very close to the vehicle may not be detected EyeSight works to recognize obstacles up to about a 30-mph (or less) speed differential. Essentially, EyeSight needs time to recognize an object or potential obstacle. If the speed difference between the EyeSight vehicle and the object is greater than up to 30 mph, the object will likely not be detected. Note- do not touch or try to clean the EyeSight camera lenses. It is imperative that extra precaution be used when cleaning the inside of the windshield, because over-spray from cleaners may impair or even damage the cameras’ lenses, which is not a warranty issue |
