Why do I want all wheel
drive? I live in a dry warm climate.
All wheel drive is a full
time traction system that is effective on dry as well as slick roads and
helps maintain stability and control under most conditions.
It is a benefit in all driving
conditions but of course especially any area where there is snow or rain
including the Northwest, Northeast, Midwest.
The BRZ is Subaru's only rear wheel drive car. It has a Limited slip rear
axle. Introduced in 2012, it's built by Subaru but was was co-designed
by Toyota and is also sold in the US as the Scion FR-S

Is there a 7 passenger?
Not currently.
Subaru will be releasing the all new 7/8 passenger Ascent SUV mid-2018
Is there a Hybrid
Yes, Subaru's first hybrid, the Crosstrek Hybrid
and Hybrid Touring was introduced as a 2014 model late in 2013. and
dropped in half-way through the 2016 model year in April 2016. A new
Hybrid will be available fall 2018, and an electric car will be
available in 2019.
Is there a Diesel
Yes
but it is not available in the US.
The potential US market
for a Subaru diesel is small and Subaru is working on other technologies

XV Crosstrek: 2018 model year 2018 models arriving September 2017 all new redesigned model for 2018. The Crosstrek is a raised version of the 5 door Impreza with 8.7" ground clearance, and starting with the 18 model will have get the same platform, auto and features that the 17 Impreza got last year when it was redesigned. Crosstrek and Impreza are marketed as a separate models. The models are 2.0i base model, manual or CVT Premium manual or CVT Limited CVT all with 8.7" of ground clearance new for 2018 152hp 2.0L engine (up from 146), 16.6 gallon gas tank (up from 15.9) Manual transmission now 6 spd (2017 was 5 spd) CVT transmission now with 7 settings, and new Xmode on Premium and Limited.
