Why do I want all wheel
drive? I live in a dry warm climate.
All wheel drive is a full
time traction system that is effective on dry as well as slick roads and
helps maintain stability and control under most conditions.
It is a benefit in all driving
conditions but of course especially any area where there is snow or rain
including the Northwest, Northeast, Midwest.
The BRZ is Subaru's only rear wheel drive car. It has a Limited slip rear
axle. Introduced in 2012, it's built by Subaru but was was co-designed
by Toyota and is also sold in the US as the Scion FR-S

Not currently.
Subaru is planning to have a 7 passenger in 2018
Is there a Hybrid
Yes, Subaru's first hybrid, the Crosstrek Hybrid
and Hybrid Touring was introduced as a 2014 model late in 2013. and
dropped in half-way through the 2016 model year in April 2016. There is
no 2017 Hybrid
Is there a Diesel
Yes
but it is not available in the US.
The potential US market
for a Subaru diesel is small and Subaru is working on other technologies

XV Crosstrek: 2017 model year 2016 models arriving November 2016 The Crosstrek is a raised version of the 5 door hatchback Impreza. Its marketed as a separate model. There are very few changes for the 2017 Crosstrek It's an Impreza with the 148hp 2.0L engine and CVT transmission, but with 8.7" of ground clearance, a wider track, various fender and bumper flares. Hybrid models dropped, no longer available The models are 2.0i base model, manual only Premium manual or CVT For 2017 Premium Special Edition Pkg #15 (small production run) now available in black as well as pure red. Forester: 2017 model year available June 2016 The 2017 models are 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, and 2.5i Touring. 2.0XT turbo Premium and 2.0XT Touring. Eyesight is finally upgraded to V.3 with color cameras. Manual transmission is still available on 2.5i base and 2.5i Premium CVT is standard on Limited, Touring and XT Premium and XT Touring. Premium now gets automatic climate control with 7 speed fan, XMode hill descent control, and a standard rear spoiler. Premiums with eyesight have B;ind Spot Detection with rear cross traffic alert, steering responsive fog lights.Power rear gate is optional on Premium.
