. NEW FOR 2013  OUTBACK ROOF RACK CROSSBARS HAVE TWO POSITIONS - EITHER A 30" OR A 39.5" SPREAD its easy to move the crossbar. Unscrew the crossbar and the plug that's in the other hole,  and switch them. Its that easy! The tool is in the spare tire compartment. Photos below.

the roof rack has two positions. Just unscrew the rack and the plug, and switch them	this is the plug in the unused position, it unscrews and fits in the other hole, and the crossbar goes in this one
this is the tool to loosen and remove the cross bar and plug to switch them. Shown with the crossbar bolt	loosen the crossbar and remove the bolt, it goes in the other hole
the two positions. The crossbar is in the 29" position	the two positions, just switch them. Shown with the plug removed, and the crossbar bolt loosened but not lifted out.
new for 2013 Outback, the roof rail has a 2nd position for the rear crossbar a wider 29" spread if desired. These are the two attaching points.	blank
