the clear arch protectors protects the paint on the front of the rear wheel arch from gritty road spray. This high mile car has been in very harsh weather and you can see what unusually heavy road spray can do- the leading edge of the paint protector itself is getting blasted off and the paint at the bottom of it has been worn away.
