2000-2004 Legacy and Outback Air Filtration
Replace yearly or every 7500 miles or as needed

1)
Remove glovebox
a. push in the sides of the govebox to unhook the knock pins
b. remove installation screws
c. remove console side panel
d. disconnect glovebox uillumination harness connector and romove glove box. 
e. remove the knock pins to make it easier to re-install

2)
Disconnect the resistor connector. 
Remove the cover from the cooling unit by removing the 4 clips with a flat screwdriver

Note: to remove the clips pry from the TOP, not middle!

 

3)
Install the upper filter assembly in the cooling unit, then install the lower filter.
The passenger compartment side of the filter is marked with an UP arrow. Be sure the arrow points UP.

Reinstall the covver and reconnect the resistor connector. Check to be sure there are no air leaks through or around the cover.

4. 
Reinstall the glovebox as follows
a. reconnect the glovebox illumination harness and reinstall the glove box assembly
b. Reinstall console side panel
c. reinstall glovebox installation screws.
c. Lift glovebox and reinstall Knock Pins. Make sure the pins are carefully inserted into the assembly grooves

2005 Legacy and Outback Air Filtration (a/c filter)
Replace yearly or every 9500 miles or as needed
Updated to every 15,000 miles replacement interval, but again... as needed

1. Remove the instrument panel side cover.
2) Remove the clip and the string damper.

3) Remove the A/C filter.

Install in the reverse order

1. Remove the instrument panel side cover.

2) Remove the clip and the string damper.

3) Remove the screws, 
4) remove the upper storage box.
5) Remove the screws to take out the bracket
hole where the storage box was removed.

6) Peel off Velcro tape (B) attaching the insulator,
and push up the insulator (A).

7) Remove the A/C filter.
 

Install in the reverse order.

Start 2006 Tribeca
2006 B9 Tribeca Air Filtration (a/c filter). 
Replace yearly or every 9500 miles.

2) Remove the 2 clips and the string damper
3) Remove the glove box.
4) Remove the service hole cover.
5) Remove the A/C filter.

install in reverse order
