Front of the 1978 brochure. Thats a Shiny Blue' GF Hardtop model on the front with dual headlights. Only the GF sedan and 4WD wagon had dual lights, all others were single headlights.
"Inexpensive and built to stay that way"
was the ad campaign. Subaru advertising in 1978 was by the Levine Huntley
Schmidt Beaver agency.

All 1978 Subarus were front wheel drive
except for the 4wd wagon.
The only engine was a 1.6L 4 cylinder

if any of their recent cars got these MPG ratings.
